The story

Dr. Johann Siegert, a German army surgeon, created these bitters in 1824 in the town of Angostura, Venezuela, as a remedy for soldiers. The company moved to Trinidad in 1875. Legend has it the oversized label came from a design contest where nobody fixed the mistake, and they kept it.
